    Ishigoya Dam

    Ishigoya Dam

The auxiliary Ishigoya Dam is located 800 m downstream of Miyagase Dam. It was built to help stabilize discharge flow, maintain an appropriate water level in the Tsukui Channel, still discharge from Miyagase Dam, and secure water for electricity generation. It stores water discharged from Miyagase Dam, controls the amount of water necessary for maintaining rivers in a healthy and safe state and discharges water to the downstream of Nakatsugawa River.
It was designed to incorporate the landscape of the former Nakatsugawa Valley and the vicinity's natural environment.

    Aikawa Power Station No.1

    Aikawa Power Station No.1
Located immediately downstream of Miyagase Dam. Utilizes hydraulic power generated by the difference in its elevation to Miyagase Dam to generate electricity during peak hours of demand.

    Aikawa Power Station No.2

    Aikawa Power Station No.2
This power plant generates electricity 24 hours a day using discharged water stored and controlled at Ishigoya Dam.

    Role of Channels

The two channels play an important role as facilities necessary for integrated water management.

    Doshi Channel
Conducts water from Doshigawa River to Miyagase Dam to maintain sufficient water levels within Miyagase Dam.

    Tsukui Channel
Sends water stored in Miyagase Dam to the upstream of Shiroyama Dam when water levels of dams along the mainstream decrease.
