Comprehensive sediment-control countermeasures
(Sabo permits sediment flow)
We promote a general land and sand control plan to reserve sediment supply to the lower stream, not only conducting to research amount and quality of sediment from the upper stream to the river mouth along all river basin cooperating with related organizations which control revers and sea shores, but also constructing open-type Sabo dams to improve disaster prevention ability.

Promotion of fundamental measures against sediment-related disasters
We promote SABO works for preservation of a human life, property and national economic activities by controlling yeild and discharge of sediment from devastated regins.

Promotion of comprehensive sediment disaster prevention measure
As comprehensive sediment disaster prevention measure(software measure), we develop warning and evacuation system while cooperating with Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures, install telemetering rain gauge and rainfall graphic display panels, and we try to prepare for announcement of the information about sediment-related disaster(information such as precipitation data in the district will be posted on web site as an example).

Promotion of Measure to protect vulnerable people from disasters
We put emphasis on promoting sabo works concerning facilities such as welfare facilities for the aged, who are not able to evacuate by himself and are easy to become the victim of sediment-related disaster.
(8)Area to be conserved (Ohmu river)
Promotion of recycling and reuse
We promote "Sabo CSG works", "rubble concrete works" and "permanent mold construction method" in which we can perform cost reduction by utilizing on site materials and decreasing the amount of concrete and excavated soil.
Sabo CSG Works(Sabo Cemented Sand Gravel works) Utilizes on-site materials mixed with cement, and achieves construction cost reduction and shortening construction period.

Harmony with nature
While performing various monitoring surveys about environmental concerns and follow up surveys about established fishway, we maintain Sabo facilities with more consideration of natural environment, ecosystem, and sceneries.
